I entered a construction rate in EstateMaster DF, but the cost is missing from cash flow. What should I check?
The short answer
Check the quantity, base rate, Start and Span together. The documented construction-cost workflow excludes a line when any of those required inputs is zero. A rate entered without a quantity is not a complete cost.
Work through the checks
- Locate the construction-cost line in the Input sheet and confirm the quantity and rate units match.
- Read all four required values: number of units, base rate per unit, Start and Span. Identify blanks or zeros.
- Use the real programme to correct the missing timing input. Do not enter an arbitrary 1 merely to make a cost appear.
- Check the base amount as quantity multiplied by rate, then inspect when the cost appears in cash flow.
- Review escalation, contingency and tax separately if the cash-flow total differs from the base amount.
| Original example input | Value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Quantity × rate | 2,000 × 1,500 | 3,000,000 base cost |
| Start | 0 | Required timing input needs investigation |
| Span | 12 | Twelve-period construction duration |
Original arithmetic check. It does not calculate tax, escalation, contingency or financing, and is not an EstateMaster output.
Changing the drawdown curve cannot repair a construction line excluded by an incomplete required input.
