ARGUS Intelligence / COMPANION EXAMPLE

ARGUS Intelligence: find a missing portfolio contribution

The portfolio membership looks right. You need to establish which member models actually contribute to the selected view.

YOU ASK

I added three assets to my ARGUS Intelligence portfolio. Why does the aggregate appear to cover only two?

The short answer

Portfolio membership and model availability are different checks. In Portfolio Manager, inspect “Choose a model” and the selected model type, sub-type and period. A member without that selected model cannot contribute that model’s results to the aggregate.

Membership is only the start.

Check the model type, sub-type and period.

Work through it

  1. Open the portfolio and read the selected model type, sub-type and period.
  2. Check each member against that same combination. A model from another period is not the selected model.
  3. Resolve the missing model or choose an appropriate comparable set, then check the aggregate again. Do not enter a zero to stand in for missing data.

WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW

You can distinguish an incomplete comparison from an asset with a zero result.

Can I simply select a different period?

Only if it is suitable for the comparison. Check all members against that period; changing the selection can change the question the portfolio view answers.
