The architect has replied. What happens next?

You are managing an RFI with several replies. The team needs a clear answer and a record that the issue is resolved.

The architect has answered our Procore RFI and the issue is resolved. How do I make that the official answer and close it?

Mark the relevant reply official, then close the RFI. These are separate actions: selecting an official response highlights the answer; closing changes the RFI’s status.

See the steps and a follow-up question
  1. Open the project’s RFIs tool, choose Items, and select View beside the RFI.
  2. In Responses, select Mark Official beside the correct reply. More than one reply can be official when they form a consistent answer.
  3. Once the issue is resolved, check the Distribution List and the project’s notification settings. Select Close RFI at the top, then check the green confirmation banner. Notifications depend on those settings.

What if two replies contradict each other?

Keep the RFI open and ask the assignees to clarify the correct answer in a new reply. Do not turn conflicting replies into an official answer by marking both, or by writing your own interpretation. Once the answer is clear, select the appropriate response and finish the workflow.
